The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laine looks for a takedown but McGregor sprawls well.
Laine connects with a looping right hand.

McGregor closes the distance and pushes Laine back into the cage.
Laine is pressed up against the cage. McGregor has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Laine down to the mat. Laine avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

McGregor has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Laine is trying to keep an underhook but McGregor manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

McGregor seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Laine does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Laine is fighting to break McGregor's control of his arms but McGregor is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Laine keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of McGregor's head.

Laine fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McGregor manages to avoid it.

Laine cracks McGregor with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

McGregor looks to score with a jab to the body but Laine is just out of range.
McGregor throws an overhand right that lands on Laine's shoulder, as Laine tries to avoid the shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Laine. McGregor does a little dance to reset his feet.

McGregor lands a big uppercut and Laine crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Laine looks OK. McGregor waves Laine back to his feet!

McGregor looks to land a right hand but Laine moved out of range.
Laine digs a good hook to McGregor's body.
BOOM! McGregor lands a beautiful left hook that drops Laine. Laine tries to recover but McGregor is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Laine lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
