Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Summers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alun James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Nathan Summers has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Nathan Summers seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nathan Summers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alun James!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James throws the left hand but Summers avoids the punch easily.
James uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Summers.
James throws a push kick but Summers slaps the foot to one side.
Jab by James.
James looks to throw the jab but Summers is out of range.
Summers tries to close the distance and clinch up but James swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Summers swings for the body but James moves out of range.
James swings and misses with a hook to the body.
James throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Summers takes a swing at James's ribcage but misses.
James takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Summers throws a body punch but James moves out of range.
Summers shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. James defends it nicely.
James ducks under a wild hook from Summers.
Summers throws a combination but it was largely blocked by James.

James misses with a double jab.

Summers shoots in and gets a takedown into James's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
James can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Summers controls the pace.
James looking for a sweep. Not yet James, not yet.
Summers trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Summers loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
James tries to land a sweep but no joy.
James pulls Summers in close to prevent any damage.
James's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
James trying to keep a closed guard but Summers is proving a slippery customer.

Summers working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of James's head.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Summers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
James is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Summers tries to get to full guard but James has control of the leg.
Summers works his way to full guard. Good work.
Summers is trying to control the position from the bottom.
James landing some decent shots from guard.

Summers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. James doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. James manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
James working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Summers is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. James is aware though and is defending well.
James postures up in Summers's guard and throws a big left but Summers blocks it.

Summers isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. James stacks Summers on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by James!
James works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
James lands a nice forearm strike.

James tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no James has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Summers manages to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Summers tries to get to full guard but James has control of the leg.
James frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
James cracks Summers with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
James content just to control the position here.
James can't control as he wanted to and Summers manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
James lands with a punch from half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
James throwing shots but Summers is blocking nicely.

James is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Summers sees it coming and defends easily.
Summers moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alun James dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


James throws a hook to the side of Summers's head but Summers sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Summers moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Summers misses the shot to the body.
James throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Summers counters with a nice double leg into side control. James won't be happy with that.
James sneaks back into half guard.
James keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Summers thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed James's head.
Summers seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Summers slips a nice elbow through James's hands, connecting with James's forehead.
James keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Summers trying to control from half guard but James is working away.
Summers is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Summers is working for a kimura but James is defending it quite comfortably.

Summers wants to work for an arm triangle but James is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
James manages to get to full guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Summers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. James swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Summers cracks James with a solid left hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
James lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Summers!
