The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wigstrom fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Maddox has closed the distance and engaged Wigstrom in a clinch.
Wigstrom with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Maddox jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wigstrom walks away with a smile on his face. Maddox gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Wigstrom swinging wildly here.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Wigstrom.

A lazy left from Wigstrom finds it's target.
Wigstrom throws a push kick but Maddox slaps the foot to one side.
Maddox shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wigstrom as he jumps to the side.
Wigstrom is looking to clinch.

Wigstrom fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A punch lands to the side of Maddox 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Maddox moves out of range as Wigstrom strikes.

Wigstrom rushes Maddox and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Maddox tries for a takedown but Wigstrom manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brad Maddox. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Maddox decides to pull guard.
Maddox manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wigstrom manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
