Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Pendergast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buck Russell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buck Russell will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Buck Russell!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pendergast paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Pendergast lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Pendergast takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

It looks like Mike Pendergast has been cut.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Pendergast looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Russell wants to stand but Pendergast is controlling his posture from full guard.

Russell seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Buck Russell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
