Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Trester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John De Vito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ben Trester!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John De Vito!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trester circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nice body kick there by Trester.
Trester connects with a solid leg kick.
De Vito shoots for a double leg takedown but Trester sprawls well. He's pushed De Vito's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ben Trester seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Trester shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Trester seems to be working for a kimura but De Vito defends the submission attempt.
Trester wants to lay and pray for a moment but De Vito keeps working.
Trester throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Trester is sneakily working for an arm triangle but De Vito sees it coming and defends easily.

De Vito is trying to maintain the position but Trester is very close to passing his half guard.

Trester is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and De Vito defends it well.

De Vito makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Trester misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
De Vito walks forward, straight into a front kick from Trester.
De Vito with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Trester to score with a decent uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Trester swings for the body but De Vito moves out of range.
De Vito tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Trester manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
De Vito avoids the head kick by Trester.
Trester misses the shot to the body.
De Vito chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Trester can pounce on him.
De Vito looks gassed!
Trester connects with a crisp jab.

Trester tried to score with a low kick but De Vito checks it.
Trester is looking to score with low kicks.
Danga de danga de dang - Trester scores with a four punch combination!
A decent looking cross lands there for Trester.
De Vito stuffs the takedown.
Trester throws a sloppy head kick and De Vito moves out of range easily.
Trester misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

De Vito looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Trester with the active half guard here but De Vito passes nicely into side control.
De Vito wants to take a breather but Trester manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for De Vito.

De Vito trying to control but Trester is working from the bottom.
De Vito is looking to stand up but Trester won't let him.

Trester looking for a guillotine here but De Vito defends easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Trester throws his legs up looking for a submission but De Vito uses it to pass to side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
De Vito looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Trester is avoiding damage well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Trester dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


A punch lands to the side of De Vito 's head but he takes it in his stride.
De Vito stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and De Vito wants it to stay on the feet.
De Vito throws a leg kick which misses Trester's front leg but catches the back leg as Trester tries to avoid it.
Ben Trester is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Trester fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
De Vito shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Trester defends it nicely.
De Vito shoots in for a takedown but Trester shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
De Vito tries to score a power double leg takedown but Trester sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten De Vito somewhat.
Ben Trester has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John De Vito.
Trester circles away from the clinch attempt.
De Vito changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Trester tries to avoid it but De Vito manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Trester to the ground. Trester escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
De Vito takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Trester lands a nice hook to De Vito's body. De Vito takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
De Vito is breathing heavily.

Trester lands with an uppercut that bounces De Vito off the cage and back into rage.
Jab by Trester.


It looks like John De Vito has been cut.
Trester throws a right and a left that De Vito avoids nicely.
Trester tries to land a leg kick but De Vito saw it coming and moves away.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Trester.

Trester wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by De Vito, who protects the arm well.
De Vito is working to avoid the ground and pound but Trester connects with a decent elbow.

Trester tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Trester has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Trester trying to control the action but De Vito is working from the bottom.
Trester is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because De Vito is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Trester is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. De Vito knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Trester advances to full mount.
Trester trying to control but De Vito is having none of it.
De Vito can't escape the position.
De Vito wants to hold on but Trester pushes him away.
BOOM! Trester connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Trester unloading with bombs!

Trester quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Trester but it's paid off an De Vito is forced to tap! Nice work by Trester.
