The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

Fitz wants to control the pace but Rua is squirming around nicely.

Fitz wants to get up but he can't break Rua's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Fitz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Fitz trying to control but Rua is working from the bottom.
Rua throws his legs up looking for a submission but Fitz uses it to pass to side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rua is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

A close round but Liam Fitz will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Fitz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rua but Rua pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nice takedown defense from Rua. No joy for Fitz on that attempt.
Fitz lands a slapping body shot.
Fitz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rua manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Rua misses with a right hand
and Fitz counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rua won't be happy with that.
Rua is not content to let Fitz control the position.
Rua manages to work his way to half guard, despite Fitz's best efforts.
Rua has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fitz is working away from the top position though.
Fitz moves into full mount! Rua won't be happy about that!

Rua sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Liam Fitz has got the better of the ground game so far.
Rua is trying to maintain the position but Fitz is very close to passing his half guard.

Fitz won't allow Rua to sweep him here.
Fitz is sitting in close to Rua's body. Rua has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Fitz is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Fitz is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Rua.
