Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lyoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gastao Gaspar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaspar tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Machida was well out of range. Poor timing from Gaspar.
Machida ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Machida lands with a kick to the ribs.
Gaspar connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Machida momentarily.

It looks like Lyoto Machida has been cut.

Gaspar tries to bum rush Machida with a series of wild strikes but Machida uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Crunch! Machida slams his shin into Gaspar's torso.
Gaspar throws an overhand right that lands on Machida's shoulder, as Machida tries to avoid the shot.
Gaspar walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Machida is looking to clinch but Gaspar is avoiding it.
Gaspar lands with a hook. Machida tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Machida lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Gaspar lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Machida backs up against the cage.

Gaspar throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Machida sees it coming and avoids it easily.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Machida checks a leg kick.

Gaspar throws a nice looking combination but Machida bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Gaspar feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Machidas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Gaspar drops Machida with a beautiful combination! Machida stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Gaspar is looking for the KO!

Machida fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gaspar.

Machida has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Gaspar wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Machida has him pressed against the cage.

Machida manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

With the fighters up against the cage, Machida throws an elbow but misses.
Machida's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
