Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellis throws a leg kick but Boole sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Alexander Ellis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boole takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Ellis tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Ellis misses with a leg kick
and Boole counters with a nice body kick.
No luck for Boole with that takedown attempt.

Ellis scores a takedown into full mount!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Boole really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Ellis thowing shots but they're missing.
Ellis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Boole tries to hold on but Ellis postures up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Poor strikes thrown by Ellis there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Boole avoids a series of strikes thrown by Ellis.
Ellis looking to control but Boole is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ellis jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Boole is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Boole and Ellis has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Boole tries to bench press Ellis off him but Ellis keeps the position.

Ellis is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Boole has escaped the position, nice work there.
Boole tries to improve position but can't.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ellis is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Boole knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Ellis tries for a kimura but Boole is defending well.
Boole sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Boole keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Ellis is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Boole is trying to get back to full guard.
Boole slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Ellis has gone for a leg lock! Boole slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ellis's guard.

Boole pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ellis is keeping the position for now.
Ellis wants to improve his position but instead Boole has moved into half guard.
Boole works his foot free and advances to mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Boole tries to control but Ellis wriggling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Pete Boole will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Boole pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Boole is looking to clinch.
Boole throws a head kick that misses.
Boole shoots and misses

and Ellis counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Boole wants to get back to full guard.
Ellis is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Boole reverses the position - he's now on top in Ellis's guard.
Ellis has Boole pulled in close to control his posture.
Ellis manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Boole really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ellis is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Ellis extends the arm and Boole is forced to tap!
