Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between George Whissell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Halpert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Whissell comes to the cage accompanied by Rose Of Sharon. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, George Whissell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Halpert!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halpert dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Whissell. That did some damage!
Halpert displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Whissell.
Whissell misses with a left hand
enabling Halpert to counter with a crisp jab.
Halpert throws a body punch but Whissell moves out of range.

Whissell closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Whissell lands in his opponent's guard.
Halpert is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Halpert has Whissell pulled in close to control his posture.

Whissell throws a big right hand that misses.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jim Halpert hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Whissell staying out of range there.
A looping hook to the body misses from Halpert. Whissell does a little dance to reset his feet.
Halpert on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Halpert defending well as Whissell loads up on a big left hand.
Whissell fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Halpert manages to avoid it.
George Whissell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Whissell throws a leg kick which misses Halpert's front leg but catches the back leg as Halpert tries to avoid it.

Halpert tries to clinch up but Whissell circles away and keeps his distance.

Whissell throws a big shot that misses.

Whissell tries to sprawl but Halpert drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Whissell wants to get back to full guard.

Whissell is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Halpert's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Halpert's back!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Halpert manages to reverse the position and now he's in Whissell's guard. Nice work there by Halpert.

Halpert is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Whissell has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Halpert is looking to defend but Whissell has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Halpert! Whissell pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Halpert taps out and this one is all over!
