Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Silvas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ross Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Ross Woods!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woods swats away the attempt to clinch by Silvas.

Silvas is fighting off a takedown attempt but Woods is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Silvas to the mat. Silvas regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Woods controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ross Woods was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Woods throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Woods swats away the attempt to clinch by Silvas.
Woods displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Woods throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Silvas throws a leg kick
and Woods counters with a body kick that stops Silvas in his tracks momentarily.

Woods lands a nice looking kick to the body. Silvas takes a step back to recover.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Woods pivots, looking for a leg kick but Silvas is out of range and Woods settles back down.

Woods throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Silvas stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Silvas with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Woods to score with a decent uppercut.
Ross Woods seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Woods is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Let's hope that Woods has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Ross Woods has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Silvas seems to have got his legs back now.
Silvas takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Silvas pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Woods feints and as Silvas raises his hands in defense, Woods changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Silvas wants to control but Woods passes easily into half guard.
Woods seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Woods decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Woods fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Woods lands a jab to the head.

Woods dives in and scores a takedown into Silvas's guard.

Woods buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Well Woods has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
