Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Christian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jayar Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Velasquez is defended easily by Christian .

Christian fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Velasquez sprawls well initially but Christian persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Velasquez is not content to let Christian control the position.
Christian throwing shots but Velasquez is blocking nicely.
Christian could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Christian wants to take a breather but Velasquez is having none of it.
Velasquez is looking for a sweep. Christian is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Christian missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Christian is trying to control the action in half guard but Velasquez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Christian decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Velasquez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Velasquez looks to land a combination. Christian sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Christian misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Velasquez gets tackled into the cage by Christian . Christian maintains the clinch.

Christian is trying to trip Velasquez. He has hold of a leg but Velasquez is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Christian persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Christian stays in close to Velasquez's body and controls the position.

Christian drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Christian jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Christian is breathing heavily.

Velasquez working for a triangle but Christian defends it easily.

Velasquez has his foot on Christian 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Christian works his way back into a safe position though.

Velasquez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Christian gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Christian wants to control from the top but Velasquez keeps moving.
Christian is looking to work some ground and pound but Velasquez has wrist control.

Velasquez has his feet on Christian 's thighs here. He's pushed Christian off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Christian screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
