Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nelson has chosen My Time as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Velasquez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Nelson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Nelson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Velasquez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Velasquez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Velasquez throws and elbow that misses. Nelson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Velasquez's guard. Nice move by Nelson!

Nelson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Velasquez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Roy Nelson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Nelson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Nelson tries to work over Velasquez's front leg with a kick but Velasquez checks it.

Velasquez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nelson but Nelson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Velasquez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Velasquez connects with a body shot that sends Nelson's belly button to the back.
Velasquez shoots for a double leg takedown but Nelson sprawls well. He's pushed Velasquez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cain Velasquez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
