Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Kent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Fletcher!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kent waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Fletcher.
Kent throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fletcher sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Kent throws a shot from downtown. Fletcher moves away and avoids it.
Kent tries to bum rush Fletcher with a series of wild strikes but Fletcher uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A combination from Kent does no damage.
Fletcher keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kent.
Fletcher slips under a jab.
Fletcher looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kent is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Fletcher closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kent circles away.
Kent throws a hook but Fletcher blocks it.
Kent thows a left - swing and a miss!
Kent throws a shot from downtown. Fletcher moves away and avoids it.
Fletcher displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kent throws out the jab.
Kent throws a jab but it's blocked by Fletcher.
Kent is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Fletcher shoots for a takedown but Kent saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
James Kent has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Fletcher.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fletcher will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A big right from Kent misses.
Kent throws out a loose jab but Fletcher uses good head movement to avoid it.
James Kent is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fletcher blocks a jab.
Fletcher throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kent's waist but Kent gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fletcher off to one side.
Kent misses with a hook. Fletcher ducked under it nicely.
Kent misses with a wild combination.
Kent connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Kent is breathing heavily.
Fletcher keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kent.
Fletcher has a takedown stuffed.
Kent misses with a looping right.
Kent jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kent throws a looping overhand right but Fletcher ducks down to avoid it.
Fletcher shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kent as he jumps to the side.
Kent swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kent throws a big shot that misses.
A jab from Kent misses.
Kent takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Fletcher uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kent.
Fletcher steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kent.
Fletcher slips under a jab from Kent.
A big left from Kent misses.
Kent keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kent throws a hook to the side of Fletcher's head but Fletcher sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A choreographed right hand from Kent misses the target.

Fletcher gets the takedown into side control.
Kent on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kent tries to get out of the position.
Fletcher landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Kent tries to escape but Fletcher is in control.

Fletcher in side control lands a decent elbow.
Kent takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Kent is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Fletcher has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Fletcher cracks Kent with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Fletcher has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kent wants to get back to his feet.
Fletcher cracks Kent with a big right hand but Kent just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.


Kent is rocked!
Fletcher landing strikes.
Oh Kent is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fletcher wants to control but Kent is keeping him busy.
Kent takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Fletcher lands an elbow.
Fletcher lands a few punches from side control.
Fletcher working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Fletcher wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kent keeps working.
Fletcher works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Kent pushes Fletcher away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Fletcher gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Kent could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fletcher grinds an elbow into Kent's temple.
Fletcher lands an elbow.
Kent is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Fletcher has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Fletcher lands some shots froms side control.
Fletcher cracks Kent with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Kent takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fletcher in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Fletcher scores with punches from side control.
Fletcher lands a few punches from side control.
Fletcher working the head and body with strikes.
Kent is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kent tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Kent seems to have got his legs back now.
Fletcher fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Fletcher content just to control the position here.
A nice elbow there by Fletcher.
Kent trying desperately to get to his feet.
Fletcher putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fletcher postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Kent badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Fletcher around the waist but Fletcher pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Fletcher is the winner by TKO! Fletcher jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steve Fletcher!
