Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Yoshida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Mark Yoshida enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jay Hunter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Yoshida!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yoshida tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hunter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Yoshida somewhat.

Hunter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yoshida as he jumps to the side.

and Yoshida counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Yoshida got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hunter has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Yoshida has managed to get both his arms back between Hunter's legs - danger averted.
Yoshida really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hunter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hunter manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Yoshida manages to get himself to full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hunter slips a nice elbow through Yoshida's hands, connecting with Yoshida's forehead.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round but I would say that Jay Hunter will probably get the nod.

Hunter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hunter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Well Hunter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
