And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Severn!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Severn tries to clinch but Jacobs is having none of it.
Severn swats away the attempt to clinch by Jacobs.
Jacobs lands a right hook to the body.

Jacobs takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.


It looks like Johnny Severn has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Severn throws a head kick that misses.

Jacobs drops Severn with a beautiful combination! Severn stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Jacobs is looking for the KO!
Severn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Severn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jacobs sprawls well. Jacobs wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Severn gets slowly back to his feet.

Jacobs tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Severn avoids it.

Severn tries to pull guard but Jacobs holds him up against the cage and eventually Severn drops back down to his feet.

Jacobs gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Jacobs slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Jacobs has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Severn is trying to keep an underhook but Jacobs manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Severn tries to roll over but Jacobs keeps him under control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Jacobs has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Severn is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Jacobs on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Jacobs is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jacobs doesn't manage to clinch there - Severn circles away.
Jacobs shoots in looking for a takedown. Severn tries to sprawl out of it but Jacobs keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Severn manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jacobs shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Severn manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Jacobs tries to free his leg and advance position but Severn is retaining full guard.

Jacobs sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Severn's guard.

Jacobs is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Severn sees it coming and defends easily.
Jacobs is thwarting Severn's attempts to control the position.
Jacobs wants to control but Severn is keeping him busy.

and Severn takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Severn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Henry Jacobs is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Jacobs shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Severn pinned against the cage. Severn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Jacobs dives in and grabs Severn's left leg, looking for a takedown. Severn pushes down on Jacobs's head and hops out.
Severn tries to clinch up

and Jacobs counters with a single leg into guard. Severn didn't expect that.
Jacobs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Severn swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jacobs has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Severn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Severn looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jacobs has picked Severn up and slammed him! Severn can't keep hold of the triangle and Jacobs manages to pass to side control!
Severn seems a little lost for a moment, as Jacobs dominates the positioning.
Henry Jacobs overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jacobs has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Severn gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Severn is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jacobs gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Jacobs is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Severn is controlling him.
Johnny Severn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Henry Jacobs is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
