The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kanoa moves out of range as Jackson throws a body kick.
Jackson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kanoa moves away.
Kanoa connects with a nice looking jab.
Jackson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jackson scores with a leg kick.
Jackson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Jackson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Jackson drives through with a takedown into Kanoa's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Jackson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jackson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kanoa is bucking up trying to escape but Jackson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

That's time! Kanoa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Kanoa counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Jackson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Jackson tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Kanoa is able to avoid easily.
Kimo Kanoa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slapping leg kick lands for Jackson.
Kanoa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jackson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kanoa takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Kanoa takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kanoa.

Kanoa leaves Jackson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jackson takes a body punch but keeps moving.
A nice inside leg kick there by Jackson. That's going to slow Kanoa down.
Kanoa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jackson moves away.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kanoa napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Jackson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kanoa is working away from the top position though.

Kanoa shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Jackson thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Kanoa if he has to take too many more of those.

Jackson lands a leg kick that knocks Kanoa off balance momentarily.
Kanoa steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Jackson. That one must have hurt.
Kanoa lands a nice hook to Jackson's body. Jackson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kanoa connects with a body shot that sends Jackson's belly button to the back.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
