PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dexter Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dingo Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Penn has chosen deftones-simple man as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dingo Penn!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Vladimir Khabensky and Igor Prikhodko.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Penn needs to keep his hands up - Anderson had a free shot at his head there.
Penn keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Anderson.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Anderson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Penn has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Penn and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Penn manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Anderson on his heels. He'll look to pass Anderson's guard now, I'm sure.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Penn is looking to stand up but Anderson won't let him.
Penn working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Anderson is trying to control the position but Penn postures up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Penn accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Penn trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Anderson controls Penn momentarily but Penn frees himself.
Penn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Penn looking to pass the guard.

Anderson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Anderson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Penn postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Dexter Anderson just wasn't active enough.
Penn steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Anderson.

Penn shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Anderson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Penn postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Penn taking a break here but Anderson is having none of it and regains half guard.
Penn is trying to control. Anderson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Penn seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Penn sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Anderson defending well though.
Anderson looks like he's trying to stand up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Anderson won't allow Penn to pass to mount.
Penn moves into full mount! Anderson won't be happy about that!
Penn unloads with some shots from mount but Anderson bucks and avoids them well.
Penn thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Penn is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Anderson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penn landing punches.
Anderson is breathing heavily.
Anderson is squirming around, avoiding Penn's attempts to control the action.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Penn cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Penn lands a nice shot to the head.
Penn landing strikes, looking to finish!

Anderson is rocked!
Penn unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Anderson wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Penn celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
