Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Kerns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bret Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kerns comes to the cage accompanied by Johnny Cash - Hurt. Hart has chosen Vertigo - U2 as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Kerns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bret Hart!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, David Schapiro and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hart stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hart wants it to stay on the feet.
Kerns lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Hart throws an overhand right that lands on Kerns's shoulder, as Kerns tries to avoid the shot.
Hart lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kerns at a distance.
Kerns misses with a hook to the body
and Hart counters with a good low kick that Kerns was not able to check.
Hart looks to land a combination but Kerns avoids it well.
Hart misses with a wild body shot.
A jab lands there for Hart.
A clash of legs there as Kerns blocks the low kick.
Nice cross by Hart.
Hart thows a leg kick but Kerns checks it
and Kerns makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kerns looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hart goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Kerns lands a nice looking body kick.

Kerns closes the distance and pushes Hart back into the cage.
Kerns lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Kerns scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Hart wants to get back to striking at distance but Kerns won't allow it.
A frustrated look appears on Hart's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Hart blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Kerns throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Kerns with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Kerns lands a left hand that snaps the head of Hart backwards.
Kerns lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kerns throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hart blocks it with crossed arms.

Hart breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kerns misses with a body shot
and Hart counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hart misses with a looping right.
A punch combination from Hart misses.
A combination from Hart does no damage.

Kerns throws a nice outside leg kick.
Kerns lands a nice shot to the body.

Kerns drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Kerns in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Hart being controlled for a moment.
Hart manages to get back to half guard.
Kerns drops an elbow to the side of Hart's head.
Kerns missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Kerns working the head and body with strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kerns prevents Hart from improving his position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Hart has hold of Kerns's hands but Kerns slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Kerns is looking to take a break and control but Hart is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hart wants to get back to full guard.
Kerns moves into full mount! Hart won't be happy about that!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kerns lands a heavy elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kerns controlling the pace for now.
Hart wants to hold on but Kerns pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kerns steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hart.
Hart rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kerns moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kerns misses with a hook. Hart ducked under it nicely.
Hart connects with a looping right hand.
Kerns takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Kerns digs a good hook to Hart's body.
Kerns throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hart sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hart swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kerns throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hart tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Kerns is able to avoid easily.
Jack Kerns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hart blocks a jab.
Hart swings for the body but Kerns moves out of range.

A lazy left from Kerns finds it's target.
Kerns with a hook.
Hart takes one to the side of the head.
Kerns shoots in for a takedown but Hart shows good takedown defense.

Hart shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hart is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Kerns has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Kerns!
Hart is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kerns postures up in Hart's guard and throws a big left but Hart blocks it.
Kerns looking to sit in guard and control but Hart gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kerns has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hart can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hart trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Kerns is trying to control the position but Hart postures up.

Kerns working for a triangle but Hart defends it easily.
Hart loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hart wants to pass the guard but Kerns is keeping the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hart accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kerns keeping moving, preventing Hart from controlling successfully.

Hart got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kerns has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hart has managed to get both his arms back between Kerns's legs - danger averted.
Kerns has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hart avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Hart distracts Kerns with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Kerns is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hart defends well.

Kerns working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hart doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hart manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hart postures up in Kerns's guard and throws a big left but Kerns blocks it.
Hart throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kerns works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hart wants to control from the top but Kerns keeps moving.

Kerns is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hart defends well.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kerns escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hart gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hart must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Kerns utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kerns is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jack Kerns overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kerns tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hart was well out of range. Poor timing from Kerns.

Kerns tries to land a front kick but Hart steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Kerns misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hart.
Hart throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Hart throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kerns digs a good body shot into Hart's ribs.
Kerns dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hart. That did some damage!
Kerns throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Kerns scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Kerns moves into range and clinches up with Hart.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kerns.

Hart's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kerns lands a body shot.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kerns.
Kerns tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kerns uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hart.
A telegraphed right hand from Kerns misses the target.
Kerns ducks under a wild hook from Hart.
Kerns is looking to wear down Hart with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
A slow jab from Hart misses its intended target.

Hart swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hart jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hart swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hart fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kerns manages to avoid it.

enabling Kerns to counter with a crisp jab.
Hart takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kerns gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kerns keeps control of Hart as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Kerns throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hart blocks it with crossed arms.

Kerns tries to throw a body punch but Hart avoids it by throwing Kerns back against the cage.

Hart escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hart will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Hart is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Kerns bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hart's head backwards.
Hart tries a low kick but Kerns avoids it.
Kerns fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hart throws a looping overhand right but Kerns ducks down to avoid it.
Kerns is looking to clinch.
Hart throws a jab but it's blocked by Kerns.
Kerns missing with a left hand there. Hart was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
