Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Blade Runner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Klass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Runner closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Klass quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Klass is trying to stand up here but Runner is controlling him well.

Runner decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Klass fails with a takedown attempt.
Klass moves in looking to clinch but Runner pushes him off.
Runner swings away with a body shot that misses
and Klass counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Blade Runner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Klass shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Runner sprawls well. Runner wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Klass gets slowly back to his feet.
Runner stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Runner wants it to stay on the feet.
Blade Runner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Klass.

Runner decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Runner is trying to work for a kimura but Klass is defending well.

Runner is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Runner is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Klass sees it coming and defends easily.
Klass is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Runner is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Klass doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Runner.
Klass on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Runner seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Runner is just content to waste time from the top position. Klass takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Runner in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Runner lands a couple of elbows.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Klass is trying to keep Runner in close.

Klass has his foot on Runner's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Runner works his way back into a safe position though.
Klass avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Klass is trying to control the position from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Runner accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Runner slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Klass keeping moving, preventing Runner from controlling successfully.
Runner preventing the sweep.
Runner not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Blade Runner.
Runner stuffs the takedown attempt from Klass. Klass gets slowly back to his feet.
Klass looks gassed!
No luck for Runner with that takedown attempt.

Runner scores a takedown into full mount!
Runner looking to finish Klass with some ground and pound. This is bad for Klass!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Runner pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Runner cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Runner landing strikes from the mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Runner trying to control but Klass is having none of it.

Runner looking to secure an arm triangle but Klass defends it well.
Runner lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Klass is rocked!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Runner postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Klass in real trouble here! The ref calls for Klass to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
