Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tim Buck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bazz Durham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bazz Durham!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Buck. Those never looked like landing.
Buck looks to land a combination but Durham avoids it well.
Durham takes a jab right on the kisser.
Nice defenses there by Durham.
Buck stuffs the takedown.
Buck misses with the combination.
Buck misses with a two punch combination.
Buck misses the jab.
Durham has a takedown stuffed.
Durham has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Durham there as he acknowledges the shot.

Durham tries to score a power double leg takedown but Buck sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Durham somewhat.
Tim Buck has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bazz Durham.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Durham shoots in looking for a takedown but Buck manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Durham's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Buck loads up on a big right hand but Durham slips the punch.

Durham changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Buck tries to avoid it but Durham manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Buck to the ground. Buck escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Buck misses with a looping right.
Buck throws a nice looking combination but Durham bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Buck throws a right hand that Durham ducks under and follows up with a left that Durham also avoids with ease.
Buck throws a hook but Durham avoids it easily.

Durham fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A slow jab from Buck misses its intended target.
Buck misses with an uppercut
and Durham cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Buck misses with a hook.
Tim Buck is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Durham takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Durham defending well as Buck loads up on a big left hand.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Buck throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Buck, as that shot connected.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Durham is defended easily by Buck.
Buck misses with a left hand
and Durham counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Buck swinging wildly here.

Durham feints and as Buck raises his hands in defense, Durham changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Buck knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Durham on the ground.
Durham postures up in Buck's guard and throws a big left but Buck blocks it.
Durham throws a big right hand that misses.
Buck bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Durham's guard.
Buck would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Buckis looking to pass into half guard but Durham pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Durham is in guard.

Durham working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Buck's head.
Durham trying to control but Buck is working from the bottom.
Durham slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Durham slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Buck tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Durham cracks Buck with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Durham trying to control the position but Buck is working away.
Durham postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Buck on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Buck tries to get out of the position.
Buck tries to bench press Durham off him but Durham keeps the position.
Durham creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Durham wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Buck, who protects the arm well.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Buck is trying to improve his position.
Buck takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Buck tries to improve position but can't.
Bazz Durham has got the better of the ground game so far.
Buck is not content to let Durham control the position.
Buck tries to buck Durham off but Durham is having none of it.
Durham landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

Durham working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Buck is looking to regain half guard here but Durham keeps moving and retains side control.
Durham grinds an elbow into Buck's temple.
Buck takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Durham thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Buck is not content to let Durham control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Buck sneaks back into half guard.
Durham throwing shots but Buck is blocking nicely.

Durham wants to work for an arm triangle but Buck is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Buck is looking for a sweep. Durham is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Durham thows a huge punch but Buck dodges it nicely.

Durham is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Bazz Durham showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Durham shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Buck as he avoids it easily.

Durham takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Buck throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Durham tries to clinch there but Buck circles away.
Durham looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Buck is fending him off so far but Durham persists. Nope, Buck circles away and we're back to standing.
Buck lands with an uppercut that bounces Durham off the cage and back into range.
Durham looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Durham is still on wobbly legs! Can Buck finish him?
Buck lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Durham falls backwards - clearly groggy! Buck dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tim Buck!
