Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Asher Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Mangabeira!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mangabeira closes the distance looking to clinch
and Lee counters with a stiff right hand.
Nice straight punches there by Lee. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Lee.
Lee circles away from the clinch attempt
and Lee counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mangabeira shoots in for a double leg but Lee sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Lee misses with an uppercut. Mangabeira saw that one coming.
Mangabeira tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Lee manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lee keeps the fight on the outside.
Mangabeira tries to clinch up.
Mangabeira swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Mangabeira tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lee swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Some wild striking there from Lee.
Mangabeira tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Lee manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Lee misses with a few strikes there.
Lee stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lee wants it to stay on the feet.

Lee throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Mangabeira slips under a jab.
Lee throws a nice looking combination but Mangabeira bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lee misses with a straight right.
Lee misses with a double jab
and Mangabeira counters with a straight right hand.

Mangabeira has taken the fight to the clinch.

Mangabeira stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Mangabeira continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Asher Lee will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Mangabeira tries to clinch up but Lee circles away and keeps his distance.
Lee tries to bum rush Mangabeira with a series of wild strikes but Mangabeira uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lee throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Mangabeira uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lee.
Asher Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mangabeira has managed to clinch.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Mangabeira.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Rodrigo Mangabeira.
A jab from Lee misses.
Lee fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mangabeira on the side of the head.
Asher Lee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mangabeira fails with an attempt to clinch.

Lee misses with an uppercut. Mangabeira saw that one coming.
Lee looks to throw the jab but Mangabeira is out of range.

Mangabeira uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lee.
Lee lands with an uppercut that bounces Mangabeira off the cage and back into range.
Mangabeira is looking to clinch but Lee is avoiding it.
Mangabeira shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lee sprawls well. Lee wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mangabeira gets slowly back to his feet.

Mangabeira has Lee up against the cage in a clinch.
Lee tries to break free but Mangabeira pushes him back against the cage.
Lee wants to break the clinch but can't.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Lee is trying to force a seperation but Mangabeira has the dominant position.

A frustrated look appears on Lee's face as he tries to break the clinch.
The referee calls for Mangabeira to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Asher Lee will probably get the nod.
That's time! Lee's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Mangabeira wants to clinch up but Lee keeps it at a distance.
Mangabeira fails with an attempt to clinch.
A swing and a miss from Lee.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mangabeira moves away from the strike by Lee.
A jab lands there for Lee.

The fighters circle momentarily. Lee darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Mangabeira keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Asher Lee is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Mangabeira jumps guard but Lee stands there with Mangabeira around his waist. Mangabeira gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Rodrigo Mangabeira.
Lee looks to score with a jab to the body but Mangabeira is just out of range.
Mangabeira tries to clinch up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Lee gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Lee looking for a sweep. Not yet Lee, not yet.
Mangabeira trying to control the position from guard on top but Lee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rodrigo Mangabeira has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mangabeira throws a big right hand that misses.
Mangabeirais looking to pass into half guard but Lee pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Lee is in guard.

Mangabeira is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mangabeira manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lee manages to get himself to full guard.

Mangabeira is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lee is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lee has escaped and now he's on top!

And that's the end of the fight!
Rodrigo Mangabeira comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Lee has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
