Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Slugger Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Guy.
Guy doesn't manage to clinch there - Smith circles away.
Smith shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Guy pinned against the cage. Guy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Guy throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Smith's head.
Guy avoids a punch combination nicely.
Guy smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Smith forces Guy back against the cage and clinches.
Guy is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Smith avoiding damage.
Guy wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Smith gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Well, if Smith is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Smith is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Guy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Guy closes the distance looking to clinch

and Smith counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Guy!
Smith content just to control the position here.

Smith looking for a guillotine from mount but Guy is having none of it.

Smith misses with a head shot.
Guy reaches up to try and control the position but Smith seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Guy rolls and tries to escape and now Smith has his back!

Guy is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Smith gets his way!
Smith is breathing heavily.
I would not like to be Guy right now.

Guy just trying to survive but Smith is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith punches the canvas rather than the man.
Smith gets his hands free as Guy looks to control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
