PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Riley Molony (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and T Dawg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Molony comes to the cage accompanied by Dearg Doom by Horslips. T Dawg will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Molony shoots in looking for a takedown. Dawg tries to sprawl out of it but Molony keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dawg manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Molony fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Molony avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dawg defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Molony.

Dawg lands a left and a right that send Molony crashing to the mat, dazed. Dawg thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Dawg tries to bum rush Molony with a series of wild strikes but Molony uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Molony fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dawg, pushing him back against the cage.
Dawg wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Molony has him pressed against the cage.

Dawg is pressed up against the cage. Molony has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dawg down to the mat. Dawg avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Molony stands up and waves to Dawg to follow him.
Molony lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Molony's corner calls for a 1-2. Molony obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Molony changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dawg tries to avoid it but Molony manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dawg to the ground. Dawg escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A nice combination there by Molony.

Molony shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dawg as he avoids it easily.

Molony closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dawg is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Molony has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Molony just content to control the position.
Molony throws a strike aimed at the side of Dawg's head but Dawg avoids it well.
Dawg seems to have recovered his senses.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dawg takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Molony is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dawg is just riding it out for now. Molony eventually gives up the hold.

Molony tries to close the distance and clinch but Dawg swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Molony uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dawg.
Dawg connects with a right that clearly hurt Molony. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Dawg proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Molony collapses and taps out under the pressure!
