The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Betito looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Betito tries to clinch there but Gaia circles away.
Betito throws a head kick but Gaia moves out of range.
Betito throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Betito has closed the distance and engaged Gaia in a clinch.

Betito breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Betito misses with a body kick.
Betito fails with an attempt to clinch.
Betito tries to clinch there but Gaia circles away.
Betito tries to clinch but Gaia is having none of it.
Betito throws a sloppy head kick and Gaia moves out of range easily.
Betito tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Betito tries to clinch up.
Betito tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Betito moves in looking to clinch but Gaia pushes him off.
Betito lands a head kick. Gaia smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Betito tries to clinch there but Gaia circles away.

Betito fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gaia sprawls well initially but Betito persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Gaia is pressing down on Betito's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Betito stopping the sweep attempt from Gaia.
Gaia is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Gaia has his foot on Betito's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Betito works his way back into a safe position though.

Betito is posturing up here but Gaia has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Betito tries to roll out but it's too tight and Betito has to tap! Slick submission there by Gaia!
