Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Salvatore Corigliani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amir Sadollah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Amir Sadollah has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Salvatore Corigliani!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Amir Sadollah!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Corigliani gets the takedown into side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Sadollah trying to remain calm as Corigliani controls from the top position.
Corigliani has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Sadollah!

Sadollah is in a horrible position here. Corigliani smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.


It looks like Amir Sadollah has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Corigliani is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Sadollah is surviving well by controlling Corigliani's body position as best he can.

Corigliani wants to finish this one by submission but Sadollah is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Corigliani.

Corigliani swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Sadollah is now in Corigliani's guard. A big mistake from Corigliani there, giving up the dominant position!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sadollah is looking to stand up but Corigliani won't let him.
Corigliani on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Corigliani tries to get out of the position.

Corigliani wriggles free and stands up.
Corigliani throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sadollah's waist but Sadollah gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Corigliani off to one side.
Nice takedown defense from Sadollah. No joy for Corigliani on that attempt.
Corigliani shoots in for a takedown but Sadollah shows good takedown defense.

Sadollah fakes the leg kick and cracks Corigliani in the body.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Salvatore Corigliani seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sadollah throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Good leg kick by Sadollah there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A head kick from Sadollah lands but Corigliani takes it in his stride.
Sadollah lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

That was a close round but I would say that Salvatore Corigliani will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Sadollah lands with a thumping leg kick.
Sadollah thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Corigliani if he has to take too many more of those.
Horrible takedown by Corigliani or perhaps it was just good defense by Sadollah which made him look bad.
Sadollah feints and then cracks Corigliani's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Corigliani down.
Sadollah keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Sadollah fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Corigliani.
Sadollah throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Sadollah throws a leg kick which misses Corigliani's front leg but catches the back leg as Corigliani tries to avoid it.
A slapping body kick lands there for Sadollah.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Corigliani on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sadollah. Sadollah obviously looking to wear him down.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Corigliani is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Sadollah lands a leg kick that knocks Corigliani off balance momentarily.
Corigliani lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sadollah circles away quickly and effectively.

Corigliani moves in looking to clinch but Sadollah pushes him off.

Corigliani turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Corigliani manages to end up in side control.

Sadollah is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The referee asks Corigliani politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Corigliani prefers to stall for the moment though.
Sadollah is not content to let Corigliani control the position.
Corigliani has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Corigliani remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sadollah sneaks out the side door and pushes Corigliani away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

I think Sadollah has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
