Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nova Uniao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Headden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nova Uniao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Headden!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Danga de danga de dang - Headden scores with a four punch combination!
Headden on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Uniao ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Uniao stalks Headden and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Headden's face. Headden staggers backwards, shaken.

Uniao rushes Headden and presses him up against the cage.
Headden with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Headden blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Headden scores with a nice hook to the head.
Uniao blocks a punch to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Headden prevents a body shot from Uniao.

Headden has Uniao pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Headden pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Uniao tumbling to the mat - Headden dives into Uniao's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Uniao working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Headden doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Headden manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Uniao lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Headden!
Headden prevents any damage by holding on tight.

Headden tries to hold on but Uniao postures up.
Uniao thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Uniao misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Uniao has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Uniao has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Headden's face.

Headden is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Uniao unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Headden wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Uniao celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
