Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
John tries to clinch but Silva moves away

and Silva counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Silva.
Silva goes for a takedown attempt but John pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Oliver John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Silva holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Silva has John pressed against the cage, preventing John from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
John throws an elbow but it's blocked.
John misses with the head strike.

Silva closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Silva is looking to take a break and control but John is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
John is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Silva asserts his dominance and retains side control.

John has momentary wrist control but Silva slips an elbow through the middle.

Silva stands up from John's guard - Silva perhaps looking for a knockout.

A right hook to the body lands for John.

John has had enough of the clinch but Silva keeps him there for the moment.

Silva jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as John walks away with a smile on his face. Silva gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

John wants to stand and escape but instead Silva has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Silva gets to his feet - John follows without any prompting.

and Silva counters with a single leg into guard. John didn't expect that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

John is working an open guard so Silva takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
John really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Silva has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Silva shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches John napping and manages to drive through into side control!
