PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Sheen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tatsuya Suzuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sheen might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to DJ Khaled - All I do is Win. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Charlie Sheen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tatsuya Suzuki!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suzuki fails to land the takedown.
A jab from Sheen does it's job there.
Suzuki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Sheen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Sheen manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Sheen creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Suzuki tries for a takedown. No joy.
Charlie Sheen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tatsuya Suzuki.

Sheen gets through Suzuki's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Sheen gets through Suzuki's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Sheen swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Sheen tries to work over Suzuki's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Suzuki has hold of one of Sheen's legs. Sheen is fighting the takedown attempt but Suzuki gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Suzuki wants to control from the top but Sheen keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sheen is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Suzuki shoots in for a takedown but Sheen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Suzuki looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Horrible takedown by Suzuki or perhaps it was just good defense by Sheen which made him look bad.
Suzuki looks gassed!
Sheen lands a nice hook to Suzuki's body. Suzuki takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

A looping hook to the body misses from Sheen. Suzuki does a little dance to reset his feet.
No luck for Suzuki with that takedown attempt.
Sheen scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Suzuki takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Suzuki doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Sheen rushes Suzuki and presses him up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nice body punch from Sheen - that landed with a thud.
A left hand lands to the body for Sheen.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Sheen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Suzuki takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Sheen lands a really nice looking cross but Suzuki seems unphased.
Suzuki takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Suzuki ducks right into an uppercut from Sheen.

Sheen darts in and clinches Suzuki up against the cage.

Sheen is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Suzuki can't fight it off and eventually Sheen manages to take the fight to the floor. Suzuki looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Suzuki wants to stand but Sheen is controlling the position.
Sheen controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Sheen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Sheen works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Sheen wants to pass the guard but Suzuki is defending well.

Sheen seems to be working for a kimura but Suzuki defends the submission attempt.

Sheen is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Sheen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Sheen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sheen tries to pass the half guard into mount. Suzuki knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Suzuki wants to stand back up but Sheen manages to pass into side control.

Sheen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Suzuki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sheen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A lull in the action here as Sheen stalls from top position.
Suzuki prevents Sheen from improving position.

Sheen goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Suzuki has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sheen but great work by Suzuki.
You can see the frustration on Sheen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Suzuki is trying to get an arm triangle but Sheen is defending well.
Sheen wants to control but Suzuki postures up.
Suzuki wants to control but Sheen is keeping him busy.
Sheen is looking to regain half guard here but Suzuki keeps moving and retains side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sheen manages to get back to half guard.
Sheen is controlling Suzuki's trapped leg to prevent Suzuki from advancing to side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Suzuki swats away the attempt to clinch by Sheen.
Sheen takes a swing at Suzuki's ribcage but misses.

and Sheen counters with a right hand to the body.
Suzuki shoots in for a takedown but Sheen shows good takedown defense.
Charlie Sheen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tatsuya Suzuki.
Suzuki takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Suzuki takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Sheen scores with a sloppy right hand. Suzuki should have avoided that one.
Sheen misses the shot to the body.
Sheen defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Suzuki.
Sheen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Sheen lands a body shot.
Sheen feints a jab promting Suzuki to slip. Sheen then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Suzuki slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Sheen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sheen advances to half guard.
Sheen content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Sheen frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Sheen controlling the pace for now.
Sheen's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We're going to have a standup here because Charlie Sheen wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Sheen bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Tatsuya Suzuki has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sheen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Suzuki can do to turn this around?

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Sheen drags the fight down to the ground.
Sheen keeping moving, preventing Suzuki from controlling successfully.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sheen is pulling down on Suzuki's head. It's preventing any offense from Suzuki, at least for the moment.

Well Sheen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
