Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddie Brock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, Earl Bennet!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Alyssa Summers and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bennet throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Brock stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Bennet throws a right and a left that Brock avoids nicely.
Brock tries to close the distance and clinch but Bennet swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bennet fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Brock on the side of the head.
Nice uppercut lands for Bennet. That snapped Brock's head back.
Bennet circles away from the clinch attempt.
Brock fails with an attempt to clinch.
Brock swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bennet misses with a jab, cross combination.
Brock throws a series of punches but Bennet moves out of range.
Brock pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Brock throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
No luck for Brock with that takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Bennet dodges the punch combination from Brock.
Brock shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Bennet looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brock is one step ahead there.
Brock stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bennet swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bennet looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brock slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Bennet trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bennet looking to control.
Brock trying to control but Bennet is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Eddie Brock just wasn't active enough.
Brock scores with a head kick. Bennet tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Brock has his takedown stuffed
and Bennet counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Brock!
Brock tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Bennet cracks Brock with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
It looks like Eddie Brock has been cut.
Bennet breaks from Brock's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Brock wants to hold on but Bennet pushes him away.
Bennet throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Bennet connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Brock is rocked!
Oooooh, big shot lands for Bennet! Brock is hurt baaadly! Bennet is firing away with more strikes - Brock is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
