Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Fabregas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alejandro Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fabregas throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Fabregas throws a leg kick but Diaz moved away.
Diaz dodges the punch combination from Fabregas.
Fabregas stuffs the takedown attempt from Diaz. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet.
Diaz is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Diaz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Fabregas is trying to maintain the position but Diaz is very close to passing his half guard.
Fabregas is looking for a sweep. Diaz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Diaz is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Diaz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fabregas keeps working.
Fabregas has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Diaz is working away from the top position though.

Fabregas tries to roll over but Diaz keeps him under control.

Fabregas misses with a looping left.
Diaz seems to have recovered his senses.

Diaz has managed to clinch.
Fabregas is trying to stall.
Diaz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Fabregas lands an elbow just above Diaz 's eye.
Diaz has Fabregas pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Fabregas manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Fabregas crunches a lovely knee into Diaz's ribcage.

Diaz decides to pull guard.
Fabregas stays in close to Diaz's body and controls the position.
Diaz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fabregas is breathing heavily.
Diaz wants to get back to his feet but Fabregas is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Diaz looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Fabregas advances to half guard.
Fabregas is looking to stall here but Diaz recovers full guard.

Diaz pulls Fabregas in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Diaz keeping moving, preventing Fabregas from controlling successfully.
Diaz not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Diaz wants to sweep here but Fabregas controlling him for the moment.
Fabregas is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Diaz controls Fabregas momentarily but Fabregas frees himself.
Fabregas looking to sit in guard and control but Diaz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Diaz looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Diaz trying to stand up but can't free himself from Fabregas's guard.
Fabregas wants to get back to his feet but Diaz is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Diaz stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Diaz gets a clinch.
Fabregas missing with knees to the body.
Fabregas throws a head punch that misses.
Fabregas throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Fabregas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Diaz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Antonio Fabregas will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Diaz throws a low kick, looking for Fabregas's leg but Fabregas calmly moves out of range.
Fabregas tries a low kick but Diaz avoids it.
Diaz on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Fabregas misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Diaz drives through and clinches with Fabregas against the cage.
Fabregas working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Fabregas manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Diaz blocks the elbow strike.

Diaz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Diaz takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Fabregas just misses with a punch to the body.
Fabregas throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Fabregas is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Diaz.
Diaz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fabregas.
Diaz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fabregas tries to avoid it but Diaz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fabregas to the ground. Fabregas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Fabregas pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Diaz moves into the clinch.
Diaz controlling the action here for a moment.
Diaz wants to get back to striking at distance but Fabregas won't allow it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Diaz pulls Fabregas into guard.

Diaz pushes Fabregas off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Antonio Fabregas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Fabregas tries to bum rush Diaz with a series of wild strikes but Diaz uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A punch combination from Diaz misses.
Fabregas scores with a jab. Diaz acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Fabregas measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Diaz! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
