Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyuzo Mifune (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Denard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Denard connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Mifune avoids a kick to the body.
Denard misses with the combination.
Denard rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mifune moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Denard missing with a left hand there. Mifune was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Denard throws a hook but Mifune blocks it.
Mifune shoots in for a takedown but Denard shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mifune chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Denard can pounce on him.
Mifune changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Denard tries to avoid it but Mifune manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Denard to the ground. Denard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mifune is working for a kimura but Denard is defending it quite comfortably.

Mifune is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Denard is just riding it out for now. Mifune eventually gives up the hold.

Denard kicks Mifune off and gets back to his feet.

Mifune looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Denard can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
