Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chakotay Ricker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fumito Makino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fumito Makino will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ricker throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Ricker throws a body kick that misses.
Makino feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Rickers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Ricker misses with a head kick.
Makino lands a slapping body shot.
Ricker takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Ricker bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Ricker tries to land a front kick but Makino steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ricker.
Ricker goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Makino cracks Ricker with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Makino misses with a series of wild punches.
Makino blocks a head kick by Ricker.
Ricker throws a wild body kick that Makino sees coming a mile off.
Makino connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Makino throws a right hand that Ricker ducks under and follows up with a left that Ricker also avoids with ease.
Ricker throws a leg kick but Makino sees it coming and moves out of range.
Ricker moves in looking to clinch but Makino pushes him off.
Makino avoids the head kick by Ricker.
Makino changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Ricker fails in his attempt to clinch.
Makino lands the left hand.

Nice uppercut lands for Makino. That snapped Ricker's head back.
Ricker misses with a kick to the body.

Ricker walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Makino moves into range and connects with a jab.
Makino throws a nice looking combination but Ricker bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ricker throws the kick towards the body but Makino avoids it.
Makino will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Makino is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Ricker had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Ricker throws a low kick but Makino moves out of range easily.
Makino lands a glancing blow to the side of Ricker's head.
Makino tries to bum rush Ricker with a series of wild strikes but Ricker uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Makino dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Ricker misses with a low kick.

Makino scores with a hook to the body. Ricker takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Makino lands a glancing blow to the side of Ricker's head.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ricker lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Makino has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Makino and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Makino circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ricker is looking to clinch but Makino is avoiding it.
Ricker throws a head kick but Makino moves out of range.
Ricker is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Ricker tries to clinch but Makino is having none of it.
Ricker misses with a body kick.
Makino scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Makino connects with a looping right hand.

Makino moves out of range as Ricker throws a body kick.
Ricker will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Makino lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ricker at a distance.
Ricker lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Ricker misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Makino thuds a left hand into Ricker's body.
Ricker throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Ricker gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Ricker gets control of Makino's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ricker will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Ricker is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Makino is aware though and is defending well.
Makino really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ricker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ricker has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Makino doesn't defend quickly enough and Ricker has managed to lock this one up! Can Makino escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Ricker on a fantastic submission victory.
