Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shinji Yamaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neil McKenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yamaru's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Rising. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinji Yamaru!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Neil McKenzie!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yamaru gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
McKenzie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
McKenzie working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
McKenzie lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
McKenzie working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Yamaru's head.

Yamaru working for a triangle but McKenzie defends it easily.
McKenzie throws a big right hand that misses.
Yamaru preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Yamaru bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McKenzie's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Yamaru tries to free his leg and advance position but McKenzie is retaining full guard.

McKenzie looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

McKenzie is looking for a triangle here but Yamaru uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
McKenzie is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yamaru passes to full mount!
McKenzie is working to get back to half guard.

Yamaru working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
McKenzie is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Yamaru postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. McKenzie looks a forlorn figure.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Yamaru is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. McKenzie can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Yamaru moves to the back position.

Yamaru is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McKenzie is really stuck here.
McKenzie rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
McKenzie is looking for a sweep. Yamaru is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yamaru tries to pass the half guard into mount. McKenzie knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

McKenzie looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Yamaru pushes past his half guard into mount!
McKenzie looks gassed!

Yamaru working for a submission but McKenzie is keeping him at bay.
McKenzie keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Yamaru moves to take his opponent's back.
McKenzie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
McKenzie tries to roll but Yamaru sticks to his back.

McKenzie is trying to defend against the choke here but Yamaru has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Yamaru Tightens the hold and McKenzie taps out furiously! Yamaru displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
