The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benetiz throws out a leg kick but Goryachev moves out of range and Benetiz only half commits.
Benetiz throws an overhand right that lands on Goryachev's shoulder, as Goryachev tries to avoid the shot.
Goryachev throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Benetiz.

It looks like Mario Benetiz has been cut.

Benetiz has managed to clinch.
Goryachev with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
The referee calls for Goryachev to work.
Benetiz fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Goryachev controlling the action here for a moment.
Benetiz tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Goryachev just stands there and leans against the cage.
Goryachev lands an elbow inside that Benetiz shrugs off.
Benetiz wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Goryachev takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Goryachev gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Benetiz tries to circle away but Goryachev has him pinned against the cage.
