Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lee Cyrus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cung Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cung Lee has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lee Cyrus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cung Lee!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Cyrus with that takedown attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lee looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lee connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Cyrus stuffs the takedown attempt from Lee. Lee gets slowly back to his feet.
Cyrus throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lee's waist but Lee gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cyrus off to one side.

Lee rushes Cyrus and presses him up against the cage.
Cyrus wants to break the clinch but can't.
Cyrus prevents a takedown attempt there.

Lee's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lee is looking to clinch.

Lee clinches up against the cage.
Cyrus tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lee Cyrus. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lee pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cyrus could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Lee darts in and clinches Cyrus up against the cage.
Cyrus goes for a takedown attempt but Lee pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Cyrus is breathing heavily.

Lee clinches up with Cyrus and pushes him back against the cage.
Lee can't get the takedown.

Lee's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cyrus is looking to clinch but Lee is avoiding it.
A punch combination from Lee misses.
Lee looks for a takedown but Cyrus sprawls well.

Lee has taken the fight to the clinch.
Lee using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Cyrus has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Lee gets control of Cyrus's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lee will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Cyrus wants to stand but Lee is controlling his posture from full guard.
Cyrus prevents Lee from getting back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Cyrus closes the distance and clinches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lee gets control of Cyrus's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lee will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Lee is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Cyrus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cyrus controls from within his opponent's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Lee Cyrus just wasn't active enough.
Cyrus looks to land a combination but Lee avoids it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cyrus swinging wildly here.
Cyrus stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cyrus wants it to stay on the feet.
Cyrus shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lee as he jumps to the side.
Lee shoots in looking for a takedown. Cyrus tries to sprawl out of it but Lee keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cyrus manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lee shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cyrus as he jumps to the side.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A combination from Lee does no damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cung Lee dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Lee works Cyrus's body with a nice hook.
No luck for Lee with that takedown attempt.
Lee Cyrus is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cyrus looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Lee darts in and clinches Cyrus up against the cage.
Lee tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Lee breaks from the clinch.
Cyrus stuffs the takedown attempt from Lee. Lee gets slowly back to his feet.

Cyrus tries to keep at a distance but Lee has taken the fight into the clinch.
Cyrus gets underhooks to prevent Lee's takedown attempt.
Lee Cyrus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cung Lee.

Lee escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lee stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lee wants it to stay on the feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cyrus shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Cyrus not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Lee wants to get back to his feet.
Cyrus wants to stand but Lee has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Cyrus is working for a kimura here but Lee manages to reverse the position and he's now in Cyrus's guard.
Lee trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Cyrus working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lee.
Cyrus preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Cyrus might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Lee throwing strikes but missing.

Lee stands and steps away. Cyrus gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Lee is looking to clinch.

Lee closes the distance and clinches up with Cyrus, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes Cyrus against the cage but Cyrus circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lee fails with a takedown attempt.
Cyrus tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Lee manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lee shoots in looking for a takedown but Cyrus manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lee's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Cyrus counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Lee wants to get back to his feet but Cyrus passes into half guard.

Cyrus trying to control from half guard but Lee is working away.
Cyrus wants to pass to mount but Lee is defending the position.
Lee wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Cung Lee will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Cyrus's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Lee tries a head kick but it misses.
Cyrus keeps the fight on the outside.
Lee tries to clinch there but Cyrus circles away.
Cyrus shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lee as he jumps to the side.
Lee moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Lee has managed to clinch.

Lee manages to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Lee kicks Cyrus off and gets to his feet.
Lee tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Cyrus tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lee sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cyrus somewhat.

The fight stays on the outside here - Lee looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Cyrus dives in and grabs Lee's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes down on Cyrus's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lee Cyrus. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lee closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Lee escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cyrus swats away the attempt to clinch by Lee.

Cyrus misses with a knee strike.
Lee fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Cyrus goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lee prevents it.

Lee manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cyrus on his heels. He'll look to pass Cyrus's guard now, I'm sure.
Cung Lee has got the better of the ground game so far.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lee stands up from Cyrus's guard - Lee perhaps looking for a knockout.
Lee throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Cyrus's head.
Cyrus keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Cyrus fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Cyrus avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cyrus looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Lee gets a clinch.

Cyrus can't get the takedown.
Lee wants a takedown.

Lee pulls guard effortlessly.
Cyrus won't allow Lee to get back to his feet.
Cyrus tries to free his leg and advance position but Lee is retaining full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lee shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Cyrus counters by clinching up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lee tries for a takedown but Cyrus manages to get underhooks.

Cyrus is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Lee can't fight it off and eventually Cyrus manages to take the fight to the floor. Lee looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Lee Cyrus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Cung Lee is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lee uses the cage to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Cung Lee comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lee has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
