PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Litran Kossu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nautotoot Horne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kossu comes into the arena with Holy Diver - Dio blaring out of the sound system. Horne has chosen MC Frontalot - Braggadocio (Tekken 2 remix) as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Litran Kossu!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nautotoot Horne!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horne paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Horne throws a series of punches but Kossu moves out of range.
Horne throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Horne fails to land with a series of punches.
Horne keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kossu.
Horne takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Kossu swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Horne misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Horne ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kossu moves away.
Kossu swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Horne.
A combination from Kossu does no damage.
Kossu misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Horne.
Horne misses with a wild combination.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kossu lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Horne looks to land a combination but Kossu avoids it well.
Kossu thuds his shin into the meat of Horne's side.

Kossu fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Horne has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kossu misses the jab.
Horne avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kossu throws a head kick but Horne moves out of range.
Horne scores with a decent looking hook.
Kossu throws a leg kick which misses Horne's front leg but catches the back leg as Horne tries to avoid it.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Kossu content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kossu is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Horne avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kossu.
Horne is trying to control but can't.
Kossu prevents Horne from standing back up.
Kossu looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Kossu seems to be working for a kimura but Horne defends the submission attempt.
Kossu throwing shots but Horne is blocking nicely.
Kossu seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Horne does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Kossu thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Horne's head.
Kossu winds up and cracks Horne with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Kossu is working Horne over with some ground and pound from side control.
Kossu wants to control but Horne is keeping him busy.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
You can see the frustration on Horne's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kossu is looking to take a break and control but Horne is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Horne avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Kossu.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Kossu goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Horne rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kossu's guard! Nice work there by Horne!

Kossu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Horne doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Horne manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Nautotoot Horne is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A telegraphed right hand from Horne misses the target.

Kossu feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Horne's calf.
Horne swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Horne takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kossu misses with a double jab
and Horne counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Horne bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A combination from Kossu does no damage.
Horne takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Kossu fails to land with a series of punches.

That's six minutes gone in the round.
Kossu missing with a left hand there. Horne was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kossu jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Horne avoids a punch combination nicely.
Litran Kossu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horne swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kossu pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Horne back to the cage. Kossu follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


Horne is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Kossu knocks Horne out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Litran Kossu!
