Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doctor Ball (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renan Ruas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Ruas's choice of entrance music: ATB- Could you believe. Doctor Ball has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renan Ruas!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruas defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ball.
Ball tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ruas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ball somewhat.

Ball tries to keep at a distance but Ruas has taken the fight into the clinch.
Ruas lands with a left to the head.

Ball turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ball manages to end up in side control.
Ruas gets back to half guard.

Ball looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Ball is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ruas is just riding it out for now. Ball eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ruas looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Ball works his way into side control.
Ball working away.
Ruas sneaks back into half guard.
Ruas is looking for a sweep. Ball is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Ball is looking for a kimura but Ruas is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ball to get the leverage.
Ball uses his free foot to push down on Ruas's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ruas.
Ruas is trying to escape the mount.

Ball is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Ruas to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Ruas shrugs it off.

Ball looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Ball is working for a guillotine from mount but Ruas frees his head quite easily.
Ball can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ruas is looking to escape.
Ruas is looking to get to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ball jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ruas manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Ruas takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Ruas can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ball wants to control but Ruas is keeping him busy.

Ball advances to full mount.

Ball is cranking Ruas's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Ruas! He's tightened the choke and Ruas is tapping out!
