Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Ferreira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Smelly Nickers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smelly Nickers told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Smelly Nickers!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nickers throws a head kick but Ferreira moves out of range.
Ferreira tries for a takedown but Nickers circles away easily
and Nickers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Fernando Ferreira has been cut.
Nickers instigates a clinch.
Ferreira tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Nickers smiles and moves away.
Ferreira shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nickers but Nickers pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fernando Ferreira. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nickers drives through with a takedown into guard.

Ferreira doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Ferreira seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ferreira manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Ferreira is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Ferreira extends the arm and Nickers is forced to tap!
