The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bernados fails in his attempt to clinch.
Bernados tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Simmons manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Simmons throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Simmons fails to land with a series of punches.

Bernados throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Simmons stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Bernados follows into mount!

Simmons is rocked!

It looks like Zako Simmons has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bernados loads up with a big shot that hurts Simmons! He's pulled Bernados in close but Bernados has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Simmons survive? More strikes from Bernados and Simmons is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
