The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ko throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ko swats away the attempt to clinch by Blackburn.
Blackburn avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Blackburn throws an overhand right that lands on Ko's shoulder, as Ko tries to avoid the shot.
Archie Blackburn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blackburn blocks a head kick by Ko.
Blackburn bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ko's head backwards.

Blackburn gets a clinch.
Blackburn throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Ko blocks it with crossed arms.
Ko tries for a takedown. No joy.
Blackburn goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Ko tries to pull guard but Blackburn holds him up against the cage and eventually Ko drops back down to his feet.

Ko is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Blackburn sees it coming and defends easily.
Ko moves nicely into side control.
Ko tries to score with some ground and pound. Blackburn controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Ko has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Blackburn is trying to control Ko's posture but Ko avoids it.

Ko is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Blackburn is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Ko is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Blackburn knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Ko has hold of Blackburn's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Blackburn tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Ko cranks the arm and Blackburn screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Blackburn, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
