Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Sparrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fedor Silva has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jason Sparrow's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fedor Silva!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sparrow swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva.
Sparrow fails to land the takedown.
Sparrow takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Silva - that will leave a mark!
Silva misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sparrow throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sparrow off to one side.
Sparrow looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Sparrow. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sparrow keeps the fight on the outside.
Silva tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Sparrow darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Silva controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Silva misses with a head kick.
Silva connects with a solid leg kick.
Silva scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Silva looks to land a combination but Sparrow avoids it well.
Silva tries to clinch up.
Sparrow changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but Sparrow manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sparrow is breathing heavily.
Silva throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Silva throws a right and a left that both miss.
Silva throws a head kick but Sparrow moves out of range.

Sparrow changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Silva is trying to improve his position.
Silva regains half guard there - taking advantage of Sparrow's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Silva is pressing down on Sparrow's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Sparrow is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Sparrow's back instead.

Silva is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Sparrow has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Silva has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Sparrow taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Silva doesn't care though - he's delighted!
