Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tim Fraser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Malurky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malurky has chosen I'm On a Boat as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tim Fraser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Malurky!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fraser throws a right hand that misses
and Malurky counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Fraser shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Malurky but Malurky pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Malurky looks to land a right hand but Fraser moved out of range.
Fraser takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Fraser scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Malurky manages to get to full guard.
Fraser pushes down on Malurky's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Malurky is trying to maintain the position but Fraser is very close to passing his half guard.

Fraser decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Malurky lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.


It looks like Tim Fraser has been cut.
Fraser takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Nice takedown defense from Malurky. No joy for Fraser on that attempt.
Malurky swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Fraser counters with a nice double leg into side control. Malurky won't be happy with that.
Malurky avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Fraser.
Fraser trying to control the action but Malurky is working from the bottom.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Fraser goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Malurky rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Fraser's guard! Nice work there by Malurky!

Malurky trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fraser is on top in guard.
Malurky keeping moving, preventing Fraser from controlling successfully.
Malurky is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fraser forces his way into half guard.
Malurky has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fraser is working away from the top position though.
Fraser is looking to stall here but Malurky recovers full guard.

Malurky manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fraser manages to get himself to full guard.

Fraser looking for a guillotine here but Malurky defends easily.
Malurky wants to control from the top but Fraser keeps moving.
Malurky seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Fraser throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Malurky avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Fraser throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Malurky wants to control from the top but Fraser keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Malurky controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Malurky works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Malurky not landing any meaningful shots this time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Malurky is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Malurky misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Fraser is squirming around, avoiding Malurky's attempts to control the action.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Fraser throws a shot from downtown. Malurky moves away and avoids it.
Fraser gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Fraser needs to keep his hands up - Malurky had a free shot at his head there.
The fighters circle momentarily. Malurky darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Malurky. Fraser does a little dance to reset his feet.
Fraser dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Malurky looks to land a left hand but Fraser moved out of range nicely.
A lazy left from Malurky finds it's target.

Fraser closes the distance and pushes Malurky back into the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Malurky can't break the clinch.

Malurky wants a takedown.
Malurky is trying to drag Fraser to the mat but Fraser just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Fraser can't get the takedown.
Malurky wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fraser has him pressed against the cage.
Malurky is trying to break the clinch but Fraser has him pressed against the cage.

Fraser tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Malurky just stands there and leans against the cage.
Fraser goes for a takedown in the clinch but Malurky prevents it.

Fraser shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Malurky sprawls well. Malurky wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fraser gets slowly back to his feet.
Fraser has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Malurky finds it's way round the side to connect with Fraser's head.
Fraser throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Malurky bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Fraser's head.

Malurky throws a right hand that Fraser ducks under and follows up with a left that Fraser also avoids with ease.
Malurky lands a nice shot to the body.
Malurky throws a right and a left that Fraser avoids nicely.
Fraser sizes up Malurky with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Fraser misses with a looping right.
Fraser takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fraser uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Malurky.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Malurky lands a glancing blow to the side of Fraser's head.
Malurky scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Fraser shoots in for a takedown but Malurky shows good takedown defense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Malurky showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Fraser's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Malurky accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Malurky is sitting in close to Fraser's body. Fraser has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Malurky is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Malurky is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Fraser.
