The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tobolowsky stuffs the takedown attempt from Jack. Jack gets slowly back to his feet.

and Tobolowsky decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jack's guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Steve Tobolowsky hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Tobolowsky cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jack tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tobolowsky paws at him with a jab and circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jack changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tobolowsky tries to avoid it but Jack manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tobolowsky to the ground. Tobolowsky escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Tobolowsky shoots in looking for a takedown but Jack manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tobolowsky's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Tobolowsky shoots in for a takedown but Jack shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Jack throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tobolowsky's waist but Tobolowsky gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jack off to one side.

Jack can't keep his opponent in guard - Tobolowsky advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Tobolowsky is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tobolowsky content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Tobolowsky has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tobolowsky wants to finish this one by submission but Jack is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Tobolowsky.

Let's hope that Tobolowsky has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Steve Tobolowsky showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
