The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mahama keeps the fight on the outside.

Mahama shoots in looking for a takedown. Mayweather tries to sprawl out of it but Mahama keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mayweather manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Mahama tries to clinch but Mayweather moves out of range.

Mahama shoots in looking for a takedown but Mayweather manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mahama's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Mayweather shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mahama but Mahama pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mahama ducks right into an uppercut from Mayweather .
Mayweather lands with a straight right. Mahama didn't see that one coming.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mahama tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mayweather paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mahama throws a nice looking combination but Mayweather bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mayweather looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Mayweather manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mahama on his heels. He'll look to pass Mahama's guard now, I'm sure.
Mayweather wants to control from the top but Mahama keeps moving.

Mayweather has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mahama is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mahama is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mayweather defends well.

Mayweather wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Mahama's closed guard. He's half up but Mahama has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Mahama pivots and extends the arm, Mayweather falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Mahama! Well done that man!
