Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Carl Ramos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terrance Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramos kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Blur - Song 2. Smith has chosen Riot by Three Days Grace as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Carl Ramos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Terrance Smith!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Sam Margolis and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ramos.
Ramos with a lazy takedown attempt
and Smith cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A jab from Smith does it's job there.
Ramos moves out of range as Smith strikes.
Ramos is trying hard to land a takedown here. Smith sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Ramos has his takedown stuffed
and Smith counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Smith pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Smith connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Smith tries to bum rush Ramos with a series of wild strikes but Ramos uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Smith is squirming around, avoiding Ramos's attempts to control the action.
Smith is desperately trying to improve his position but Ramos has a good base and remains in mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ramos is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Smith has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Smith!
Ramos pulls Smith in close to his closed guard and prevents Smith from doing any damage or advancing position.
Smith throws a strike but Ramos rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Ramos advances position into side control!
A lull in the action here.
Smith is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Ramos is controlling him well.
Smith is trying to get back to half guard.

Ramos is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Smith's shoulder. That is not cool.
Ramos tries to move to mount but Smith blocks the move with his legs.

Ramos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ramos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Smith is not content to let Ramos control the position.

Ramos tries to move into full mount but can't pass Smith's legs.

Ramos is trying to get an arm triangle but Smith is defending well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ramos thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Ramos closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Ramos tries to score a body lock takedown but Smith shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Ramos ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ramos no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Terrance Smith wasn't active enough on the ground.

and Ramos connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ramos shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Smith pinned against the cage. Smith gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Smith throws a jab but it's blocked by Ramos.
Ramos shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A right-left combo lands from Ramos.

Ramos takes one to the side of the head.
Ramos shoots for a double leg takedown but Smith sprawls well. He's pushed Ramos's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Smith throws a nice looking combination but Ramos bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

enabling Ramos to counter with a crisp jab.
Ramos looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Smith is fending him off so far but Ramos persists. Nope, Smith circles away and we're back to standing.

and Ramos counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Ramos is trying to control the action in half guard but Smith is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ramos is just content to waste time from the top position. Smith takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Ramos passes easily into side control. Nice work.

A close second round but Terrance Smith will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Smith stuffs the takedown attempt from Ramos. Ramos gets slowly back to his feet.
Terrance Smith seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Ramos shoots in and drives through. Smith sprawls well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ramos changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Smith fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Smith throws a hook but Ramos blocks it.

Ramos ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Smith throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Smith throws a big shot that misses.
Ramos walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Smith throws an overhand right that lands on Ramos's shoulder, as Ramos tries to avoid the shot.

and Ramos counters with a series of strikes. Smith will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Ramos counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Ramos has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Smith avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Terrance Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Smith has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
