Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ned Alonso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryo Sakazaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ned Alonso!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryo Sakazaki!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alonso feints and as Sakazaki raises his hands in defense, Alonso changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Alonso is looking to work some ground and pound but Sakazaki has wrist control.
Sakazaki is looking to stand up but Alonso isn't so interested in that idea.
Sakazaki being controlled here, momentarily.
Alonso is in close to Sakazaki's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Alonso working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Alonso stands up over Sakazaki, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Alonso stops Sakazaki from standing up.
Alonso postures up in Sakazaki's guard and throws a big left but Sakazaki blocks it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Alonso cracks Sakazaki with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sakazaki is trying to stand up.

Alonso has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Alonso cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Sakazaki throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Sakazaki misses with a body kick.
Sakazaki throws a sloppy head kick and Alonso moves out of range easily.
A combination from Alonso does no damage.
Alonso shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sakazaki as he jumps to the side.
Ned Alonso is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sakazaki lands a jab to Alonso's midsection.
Sakazaki throws a head kick that misses.
Sakazaki defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Alonso.
Sakazaki misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sakazaki tries a head kick but it misses.
Alonso changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sakazaki tries to avoid it but Alonso manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sakazaki to the ground. Sakazaki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ned Alonso. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Alonso shoots in but no luck this time.
Sakazaki tries to clinch but Alonso moves out of range.

Sakazaki works over Alonso's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Ned Alonso has been cut.
Sakazaki feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Alonso's calf.

Sakazaki is breathing heavily.

Alonso throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sakazaki tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Alonso is in Sakazaki's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Alonso slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Alonso is trying to get an arm triangle but Sakazaki is defending well.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Alonso shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sakazaki sprawls well. Sakazaki wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Alonso gets slowly back to his feet.
