Putin has chosen ... as his entrance music. John is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Fedor Mirinova and Illya Tyunina.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Putin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
John is breathing heavily.
John avoids a kick to the body.
John misses with a hook.
John misses with an uppercut
and Putin makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. John really felt that one!
Putin scores with a nice body kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A combination from Putin does no damage.
Putin thows a body kick. John tries to catch it but that hurt him.
John takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Putin misses with a two punch combination.
Putin throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Putin feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to John's calf.
Putin throws a head kick that John semi-blocks.

It looks like Big John has been cut.
Putin showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from John.
Putin is looking to clinch but John is avoiding it.
Big John is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Putin looks for the body kick but John saw that one coming.
John misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
John avoids the head kick by Putin.

Putin gets the takedown into side control.
John might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Putin fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Putin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Putin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Putin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
