The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maldonado with a lazy takedown attempt
and Eveans counters with a one-two to the body.
Maldonado has his takedown stuffed
and Eveans counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Maldonado shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Eveans's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Maldonado thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Maldonado drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Maldonado jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Eveans wants to stand up but Maldonado is controlling him.
Maldonado drops back, looking for a kneebar! Eveans looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Eveans looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Eveans!
Maldonado is trying to improve his position.

Eveans tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Maldonado.

Eveans seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Eveans wants to stand up but Maldonado is controlling the position.
Maldonado has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Eveans. Oh but Maldonado has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Eveans goes limp - he's gone! Maldonado jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
