Knuckles has chosen When I'm Gone as his entrance music. Nate Knuckles has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Albert Ashton's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Albert Ashton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nate Knuckles!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knuckles misses with a series of wild punches.
Ashton tries for a takedown but Knuckles circles away easily
and Knuckles makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Ashton shoots for a takedown but Knuckles saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Knuckles misses with a double jab.
No luck for Ashton with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Albert Ashton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ashton fails with the takedown.
Nice takedown defense from Knuckles. No joy for Ashton on that attempt.
Knuckles stuffs the takedown.
Albert Ashton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Knuckles misses with a series of wild punches.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ashton.
Ashton fails with the takedown
and Knuckles counters with a nice uppercut.

Ashton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Knuckles is fending him off so far but Ashton persists. Nope, Knuckles circles away and we're back to standing.
Ashton shoots for a double leg takedown but Knuckles sprawls well. He's pushed Ashton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ashton is breathing heavily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ashton.
Knuckles lands a nice shot that snaps Ashton's head back.
Ashton dodges the punch combination from Knuckles.
Ashton shoots in for a takedown but Knuckles shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Knuckles misses with a few strikes there.

Ashton throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Knuckles tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ashton is in Knuckles's guard.
Knuckles keeping moving, preventing Ashton from controlling successfully.
Ashton tries to free his leg and advance position but Knuckles is retaining full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Knuckles is pulling down on Ashton's head. It's preventing any offense from Ashton, at least for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ashton is looking to advance position but Knuckles has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Ashton is in a horrible position here. Knuckles smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Ashton can't escape the position.
Knuckles misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Ashton is working to get back to half guard.
Knuckles looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Ashton is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Ashton bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Knuckles really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ashton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Knuckles bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ashton's guard.

Knuckles forces his way into half guard.
Knuckles keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Ashton is refusing to be controlled, as Knuckles sits in half guard.
Knuckles working over Ashton with some ground and pound. Ashton looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Knuckles has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Knuckles prevents Ashton from getting the reversal.
Ashton blocking the ground and pound.
Knuckles avoids the attempt from Ashton to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ashton is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Knuckles is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ashton tries to reverse the position but Knuckles maintains control.
Ashton holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Knuckles tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Ashton regains half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Knuckles prevents Ashton from improving his position.
Knuckles takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Ashton tries to roll over but Knuckles keeps him under control.
Ashton moves into full guard.
Knuckles pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ashton is keeping the position for now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ashton tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Ashton has his foot on Knuckles's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Knuckles works his way back into a safe position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nate Knuckles dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Knuckles lands a jab.
Knuckles stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Knuckles wants it to stay on the feet.
Knuckles throws a head kick but Ashton moves out of range.
Ashton misses with a takedown attempt - Knuckles sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Knuckles works over Ashton's head and body with a nice combination.
Ashton showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Knuckles.
Ashton avoids the head kick by Knuckles.
Knuckles missing with a left hand there. Ashton was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
No joy there for Knuckles, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Knuckles looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Sloppy strikes from Knuckles. Those never looked like landing.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ashton drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Ashton is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Knuckles looks calm but he's in trouble here. Ashton gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Knuckles is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Ashton lets go of the hold and Knuckles can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Albert Ashton!
