Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ilyy Myromec (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ilyy Myromec is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Myromec moves into the clinch.
Rua looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Rua looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Rua has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Myromec regains guard immediately.
Myromec manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rua manages to get himself to full guard.

Myromec decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rua to his feet.

Rua shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ilyy Myromec was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Myromec shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rua is trying to defend but Myromec finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Myromec is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rua is just riding it out for now. Myromec eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Myromec gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Rua shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Myromec's guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Myromec holds on and takes a little breather.
Myromec's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Myromec lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rua!

Myromec cracks Rua with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Rua is desperately trying to improve his position but Myromec has a good base and remains in mount.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ilyy Myromec hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Rua defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Myromec.

Myromec fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rua avoids it really well and circles away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rua escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Myromec gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Myromec wants to pass the guard but Rua is keeping the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ilyy Myromec hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Myromec rushes Rua and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Myromec lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Myromec changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rua fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Myromec closes the distance and pushes Rua back into the cage.

Myromec has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ilyy Myromec showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Myromec is defended easily by Rua.
Myromec looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rua is fending him off so far but Myromec persists. Nope, Rua circles away and we're back to standing.

Rua throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Myromec was covering up waiting for the punch and Rua finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Rua is fighting to break Myromec's control of his arms but Myromec is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ilyy Myromec was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Myromec shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rua napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rua is looking to improve his position but Myromec isn't that keen on the idea.
Rua is bucking up trying to escape but Myromec cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Myromec cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Well Myromec has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
